Rev. David Clinker, BA, MDiv, MRE

David Clinker was ordained into the United Church of Canada in 1985. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1982, his Master of Divinity from the University of Toronto in 1985 and a Master's in Religious Education from U of T in 1993. 

During his theology studies, he served Metropolitan United Church in Toronto as a student minister. Following ordination, he served the Strome-Killam Pastoral Charge in Alberta, and Riverside United Church in London, Ont. David comes to us from the First United Church in St. Thomas, Ontario, where he was Senior Minister for 10 years. He has demonstrated strength in preaching, worship leadership, pastoral care and education. 

David moved to Mount-Royal with his wife (Sue) and his daughter (Susannah) and became the minister of Mount Royal United Church in 2000. 

Music Director: Michel Gauthier,  BFA, BMus, AMPS

Michel Gauthier studied for five years with Bernard Lagacé, one of Québec's greatest artists ever, famous organist and Bach scholar. 

Michel came to Mount-Royal United Church in 1985. This is where he can be heard every Sunday morning, playing the organ, the piano and conducting the Choir. 

Michel retired from teaching music at Collège Beaubois (to children from preschool to grade six) after more than 20 years. He taught singing as well the piano, the guitar, recorders and all other Orff instruments. 

For the last 10 years, he has played the piano with Solar Jazz Trio.

In the last few years, he has been associated artistically and otherwise with his wife, Jessica Gauthier, a rising soprano in the opera scene.
