Welcome!
We are Mount Royal United Church. We are a community of faith, made up of people from all walks of life who find in Jesus Christ a way of life as God meant it to be from the very beginning; a way of love, justice, hope and peace. As a lively, multi-cultural, multi-generational congregation, we blend the traditions of our faith with the needs of today. We warmly welcome newcomers of any religious or secular background, to share with us Jesus' message of hope, forgiveness and love.
Everyone is welcome to join us for worship and programs as we believe God loves us all, and nothing can take away that love. Not our past, age, sexuality, gender, or language.
This is our website which, we hope, gives you a sense of who we are and what we are about.
The best way though, is to come visit us in person. We'd love to have you.
We gather every Sunday for worship at 10:30 A.M, followed by a Coffee hour for refreshments and conversation.
Currently the Communauté francophone de MRUC meets at 13:30 for a French service online and on alternate Sundays at 10:30 in person at MRUC in the Lower Hall
We warmly invite you to join us at Mount Royal United Church for worship.
Our Mission
We are called together as a community of faith,
resolving to be welcoming and caring as we follow Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
We witness to the movement of God’s Holy Spirit
in us and through prayer, study, worship, and by working for justice and peace.
We value diversity, joyously affirming that whatever their ability, age, ethnicity, gender, language, race, sexuality
or status,
all are invited to participate fully in the life of this congregation.

An Introduction to Our Church
Greetings!
We are glad you are here. We try to give members and visitors to our website a snapshot of our congregation's life and work. We hope it also conveys some of our joy and energy.
Mount Royal United Church is truly a diverse community of faith. Our members come from many different backgrounds and places: a few grew up in Mount Royal United; most have come from other congregations in different parts of Canada, the United States, and the world; many were baptized in other denominations and have chosen to exercise their faith-life with us. From these diverse backgrounds we meld into a diverse community where faith is expressed in a wide variety of ways.
Together, we enjoy the congregation's traditional sanctuary with beautiful stained glass windows, but find that worship is increasingly innovative. There is a blend of scripture and prayers with the music of a fine Casavant organ, traditional hymns and choral music, and more contemporary songs and the jazz rhythms of our music director, Michel Gauthier. Whether we gather for a Sunday Morning service, for Christmas or Easter, or for a wedding, baptism, funeral or memorial service, we seek to celebrate God's presence in all our worship.
In true United Church tradition, we not only live out our faith in worship, but through an active congregational life. There is pastoral care for our members, and outreach into the wider community. Throughout our website you will find information on upcoming events, community outreach, and Christian Education opportunities. There is an active Sunday School Program, a terrific Youth Group, and Sunday morning Nursery with a regular nursery attendant available week by week. We also offer adults opportunities to explore and develop their faith, through bible studies and theme speakers. We are committed to nurturing the faith of our members, from our youngest children to the oldest member.
In June of 2025, David Clinker, our Pastoral leader of 25 years, concluded his ministry with us. He is greatly missed by all.
We are currently in a time of transition as we prayerfully search for a new minister. During this season, we remain a vibrant and active community of faith, grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and staff who continue to lead and serve with care and commitment.
Weekly Sunday worship services continue — some Sundays are led by our half-time minister, the Reverend Rosemary Lambie, and other Sundays by invited guest worship leaders who share their gifts with us. Outreach, pastoral care, Sunday School, Youth Group, Messy Church, and a variety of social gatherings and outreach activities continue to bring energy and connection to our life together.
Wherever you are on your faith journey, you are warmly welcome here. Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in person or online.
