Spring Dessert Bridge

Tuesday, April 6 at 12:30 PM

We will be holding our very popular Spring Dessert Bridge.  As tickets are limited, we are offering advance sales to our congregation for two Sundays after church.  Tickets will be $10 as usual.  We would be most grateful if anyone in the congregation has items suitable for our basket for door prizes.  They can be left at Betty Miller’s office or given to Heather Copeland.  Thank you.

Garden Garage Sale

In May, we will host a garage sale in the gardens surrounding our church.  Please save all items you feel will sell well, including housewares, small furniture, current books and antiques.  Unless you have no choice please do not bring your contributions to the church in the coming weeks as we have a special plan.  More about that later.  Please help us to make this a grand event!  For information, Lex Green or Don Cho.

Thanks for All that Jazz

Many thanks to our Director of Music, Michel Gauthier, for coordinating and leading us in February 15th’s Jazz Service.  With Michel on the piano, and his friends Denis Lafromboise on bass and Pierre Dubois on drums, our sanctuary came alive with sacred rhythms and melodies.  And, all of the Jazz Reflections, as well as the Choral Psalm, were Michel’s compositions.   How fortunate we are to have such talent in our midst. Thanks Michel!

Messages & Mysteries in the Book of Revelation

Tues., Oct. 10, 17and 24, 2006
Our From the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to "666" and Armageddon, the surreal visions in the last book of the Bible have long been seared into popular culture in books, plays, film and art. What is actually in the Book of Revelation and what do its apocalyptic messages and symbols mean? We welcome back Dr. Paul Garnet, former professor of Biblical Studies at Concordia University, to provide some fascinating answers in a three-part lunch and learn series starting Oct. 10 at noon.
Bring your own brown bag favourites and the Adult Education Committee will provide tea, juice and cookies.

The Amaryllis Trio
Joyous Music of Medieval and Renaissance Europe
Sunday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. at MRUC

What better way to make the transition out of the holiday season than with the mystical and festive songs and readings of the Europe of old! With soaring voices, flutes and percussion, The Amaryllis Trio celebrates the spirit with the music of centuries past in a variety of languages, including Latin, French, German and Spanish. The trio, which specializes in period music, is led by Johanne Patry, whose beautiful voice will be familiar to those who attended our Taizé services last year.
Refreshments and free-will offering. </td
