February 6th   Bible Heist!

Youth and young adults are invited to join a night of junk food, glow sticks and general shenanigans right here at MRUC. This event runs from 7pm-10pm. Friends and friends-of-friends are welcome and encouraged! Please contact Leanne if you have any questions

Skating Sunday  February 8th
Sunday School and Youth skating Sunday! We’ll be meeting at 10:15 in Lynn Hall and return at 11:45 for hot chocolate and treats. Parents are welcome to join. If you’re in need of skates, or have a pair to share, please contact any of the Sunday School teachers or youth leaders. Please dress warmly!

Continued Free Trade Coffee sales fundraising efforts for Haiti relief and World Vision

February, 2012

Youth Group at Worshiplude for a weekend of skating on the Rideau Canal, fireworks, ice slides culminating in The Point, Ottawa Presbytery’s big youth worship event with United Church Youth from Ottawa and Montreal regions.

April, 2012

Easter service and scavenging activities for children & youth
Sunday School children & leaders served up a delicious lunch and raised $480 for World Vision. Children decided to buy:
  • Clean water for a family
  • Medicine for 10 children
  • 5 fruit trees
  • 3 pigs
  • 2 hens and 1 rooster
  • 1 sheep
  • 3 soccer balls

Sunday School & Youth participated in a Team Challenge “Using Your Talents for Good” with Andrea Caulfield to learn more about mission and service

May, 2012

Teens fasted 30-hours to raise awareness on issues about “Keeping Children Safe” and raised funds for World Vision

A total $3,484.00 was raised! Highest amount raised in the 18 years Mount Royal United Church youth have participated in the World Vision 30-hour famine. JuliAnna raised almost half the amount!

Youth Group kick-off with planning for the year, games night, and supper

Oktoberfest, first annual, was a big success and raised $2,608.50

Pageant rehearsal began

Christmas Pageant – “Come Worship the King” with Queen

Santa’s Breakfast – cooked by Youth Group and leaders and served by Sunday School elves – raised $692.00 for Elizabeth House. Elizabeth House is a private non-profit center for pregnant women including teens and young mothers that Mount Royal United Church Youth Group has supported for over 20 years.
